Making healthy food accessible, affordable and convenient through a network of urban greenhouses bringing together vegetable gardens and communal tables in the “food deserts” of New York City.

The project aims to build a network of urban greenhouses in empty public lots around New York City, offering community access to “climate-smart” vegetable gardens and a communal table serving balanced, affordable, fresh, convenient meals. Utilizing data visualization to map out the “food deserts” of NYC, the project seeks to democratize access to healthy, sustainable food in urban environments dominated by fast food restaurants.
