40% of homeless youth identify as LGBTQ and roughly 1,600 struggle with shelter each night in New York City. As homosexuality becomes accepted by a new generation, kids are coming out at younger ages. Yet many families cannot cope, and many teenagers are forced to leave their homes, facing life on the streets before the opportunity of getting an education and skills to survive on their own. This project is a publication serving as a campaign compiling photography, statistics, interviews and personal accounts, artwork and essays. It will share their stories in an effort to develop awareness, understanding, and action.
