You Have Your Lebanon – I Have Mine
Tamara Chehayeb Makarem

“You Have Your Lebanon and I Have Mine is an interactive installation and performance piece that addresses the issue of religious categorization. It subverts the stereotypes that the categorization reinforces by providing users with an immersive experience creating self-awareness. It destructs the logic of language and the narrative using methods from the theatre of the absurd. The project provides an interactive system that can be adapted to different countries. However, in its first phase, it focuses on religious categorization in Lebanon, a country with over fifteen sects that have all inherited the hatred created by the Lebanese civil war.”
